As we move into the next few months, Maui is gearing up for some fantastic events and activities you won’t want to miss. Here’s a look at what’s coming up on the Valley Isle:
1. Hawaii Food & Wine Festival – Ka‘anapali (October)
Get your taste buds ready for the 14th annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival in Ka‘anapali, where celebrated chefs from around the world come together to showcase Hawaiian cuisine with a modern twist. This festival is not only a culinary delight but also a chance to experience the flavors of Maui’s rich food culture paired with top-tier wines. Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in this delicious event!
2. Maui Ukulele Festival (October)
Celebrate the magic of the ukulele at the 17th Annual Maui Ukulele Festival. This event gathers local and international ukulele musicians for a full day of music, culture, and family fun. Whether you play or just enjoy listening, this festival is the perfect way to experience the joyful sound of Hawaii’s beloved instrument.
3. Made in Maui County Festival (November)
If you love discovering local products and supporting small businesses, the annual Made in Maui County Festival is a must! Sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, this festival features hundreds of local vendors showcasing handmade crafts, clothing, food, art, and more. Whether you’re looking for unique holiday gifts or simply want to sample some delicious island treats, this festival is packed with exciting finds.
4. Maui Nui Botanical Garden – Arbor Day Tree Giveaway (November)

5. Whale Watching Season (November–April) *but we spotted some in October!
Maui is famous for its whale watching, and the season is just around the corner! Each winter, majestic humpback whales migrate to Hawaiian waters, and there’s no better place than Maui to witness their awe-inspiring beauty. Hop on a boat tour or simply catch a glimpse from the shore at some of the island’s best vantage points like Ma‘alaea. *Oh and by the way, whales have already been spotted in October. They must be the early swimmers!
6. Local Farmers’ Markets (ongoing)
One of the best ways to experience Maui’s culture is through its local farmers’ markets and artisan fairs. Held throughout the week at various locations, these markets offer farm-fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and unique art pieces. Supporting local vendors is a vibrant way to connect with Maui’s creative community while discovering delicious fruits or one-of-a-kind souvenirs. One of my favorites is the upcountry farmers market.
7). Maui OnStage at the Historic Iao Theater: A Treasure of Local Arts and Culture (ongoing)
The Iao Theater’s location in Wailuku, a charming historic town, makes it the perfect centerpiece for a night out. Before or after a show, you can enjoy Wailuku’s local shops, restaurants, and art galleries, adding to the full cultural experience.
